π¨ Ride Rules
π¦Ί Stay Between the Lead and Sweeper
Two riders will wear high-visibility vests:
-
Lead rider at the front
-
Sweeper at the back
Stay between these two riders at all times.
π» If You Lose the Group
If you cannot see the lead or sweeper, stop in a safe location and use your radio to contact us immediately. Do not continue riding alone.
π¬ Dolphin Rule
On the way to Catalina, feel free to follow dolphins with the group as long as everyone stays together.
On the ride home, do not leave the group to chase dolphins. Some riders may be low on fuel, someone may experience a mechanical issue, or a rider could become separated. Stay on course and ride home together.
β½ Fuel
Start with a full tank and conserve fuel throughout the ride. Avoid unnecessary wide-open throttle or excessive detours.
π§ Mechanical Problems
If you experience a problem:
-
Stay calm
-
Contact the lead or sweeper by radio
-
Stay with your ski
-
Do not attempt an unsafe tow
-
Follow instructions from the ride leaders
π Ride Safely
Maintain a safe following distance and ride within your experience level. Do not weave through the group, race, or make sudden unpredictable movements.
π Respect Catalina
Pack out all trash, respect wildlife, follow harbor rules, and help us leave the island cleaner than we found it.
π€ Most Important Rule
This is a group ride, not a race. Look out for one another, communicate when there is a problem, and help make sure everyone gets home safely.
